Radio-Active Prostate Seed Implants

These tiny radio-active seeds, shown in the palm of a hand, are implanted into the patients prostate.

The Procedure

The procedure occurs as an outpatient, usually with a local anesthesia.

 

A tiny camera is inserted into the rectum to monitor the seed placement.

 

The seeds are placed into long needles that are inserted in to prostate.

 

 

The internal camera guides the placement of the seeds.
